Number of 'scam factories' increasing across South East Asia

Millions of people around the world are falling victim to ‘scam factories’ operating out of South East Asia.

It’s turned into a multi billion dollar industry, as workers dupe people online and encourage them to invest in fraudulent schemes.

Senior Adviser at the UN Human Rights Office, Pia Oberoi, says that “we haven’t seen a drop” in these schemes and that there needs to be a “structural crackdown on corruption" from governments to tackle the issue.
