Protests have taken place outside New Zealand’s parliament after MPs voted to delay a decision on suspending three Maori MPs who performed a Haka during the reading of a contentious bill last year.

A committee had recommended suspending them for up to 21 days for intimidation.
The MPs performed the Haka in opposition to a proposed bill that would have rewritten New Zealand’s founding treaty with Indigenous leaders.
Lawmakers will vote on the suspension after budget discussions later this week.
