Officers attacked with projectiles thrown from 'Unite the Kingdom' crowd, Met police says

A group of protesters at today’s "Unite the Kingdom" protests in London have attacked police officers, the Metropolitan Police said.

The Met said on X: "A crowd of ‘Unite the Kingdom’ protesters attempted to enter the sterile area on Whitehall that is [in] place to keep the two protests apart.

Policing commentator Graham Wettone said: “It’s sad that’s happened, I don’t think the organisers wanted any confrontation…the Met will now be bolstering resources and cordons".
