Officials in Spain and Portugal are investigating what caused yesterday’s wide scale power outage – one of the most serious blackouts Europe has ever experienced.

Power has almost been fully restored to millions of customers although there is still severe disruption to travel after flights were grounded and trains were brought to a standstill – leaving passengers stranded for hours.
