Overall government tax policies since the pandemic are ‘raising the tax burden’ – OBR

Their Chairman, Richard Hughes, tells Krishnan Guru-Murthy that they forecast that over the five years, the tax burden will reach a ‘postwar high of around 37% of GDP’.

The OBR assesses the health of the UK’s economy and their forecasts determine how much the Chancellor has to spend in the Budget.
