A former police officer who owned a paddleboarding company has been jailed for more than ten years after four people drowned during an excursion on a river in Pembrokeshire in October 2021.

Nerys Lloyd admitted gross negligence manslaughter after organising a stand-up paddleboarding tour despite “extremely hazardous conditions” and weather warnings being in place. She failed to warn the group about a weir on the route.
