The majority of those killed are children under the age of 13, according to local hospitals, and more than 50 people have been injured, with fears the death toll may rise.
Police say the owner of Al-Khair Education Center in Peshawar has been arrested, and that the building was structurally weak, but an investigation into the cause is ongoing.
