Pakistani jet fighters carried out airstrikes on Monday on what security officials said were suspected militant hideouts in eastern Afghanistan, claiming 28 people were killed. Afghan officials said at least three civilians died in the attack. Pakistan’s defense minister declared "open war" with Afghanistan in February.
