The Government has decided to proscribe the group Palestine Action – saying the UK would not tolerate those who put national security at risk.
The Home Secretary Yvette Cooper cited a "long history of unacceptable criminal damage" with members showing "willingness to use violence".
The group say they will seek a legal challenge – describing the move as "unhinged" – while police made 13 arrests during clashes at a protest supporting Palestine Action in central London.
