Israeli checkpoint personnel have denied entry to some Palestinians travelling from the West Bank to Jerusalem for prayers on the first Friday in the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. Thousands came to Qalandiya checkpoint, the largest crossing between Jerusalem and Ramallah.
