The parents of 16-year-old Murray Dowey, who took his own life after he was blackmailed online, have launched a lawsuit against social media giant, Meta.

Their legal team claim the company that owns Instagram "prioritised profit," resulting in missed opportunities to protect teenagers in the years leading up to his death.
The teenager, from Dunblane, was tricked by someone claiming to be a young girl into sending an intimate image which was used for blackmail. He took his own life hours later.
Meta has not indicated whether it will defend the action but said it fights criminals who use its apps on multiple fronts.
