Parkinson's patient plays clarinet during brain surgery

A Parkinson’s patient played a clarinet during a four-hour operation at London’s King’s College Hospital.

Denise Bacon described feeling "quite sceptical" as she didn’t think "it wouldn’t be possible to play the clarinet laying on the operating table".

Consultant neurosurgeon Professor Keyoumars Ashkan who carried out the surgery, said he tries "to understand the factors that will bring back quality of life that was lost because of Parkinson’s disease".
