Passenger stranded in the Maldives as Heathrow Airport closes

No flights will run to or from Heathrow Airport on Friday after the airport was shut due to a fire at a nearby power station.

Around 120 flights were bound for Heathrow when the airport announced it would be closing for the day.

Basia Vercueli is stranded at the airport in Male, the capital of the Maldives but says British Airways staff are being helpful and there are worse places to be stranded.
