Patients clogging up A&E

Patients are being urged not to clog up A&E with minor conditions like blocked noses, earache and ingrowing toenails, which could be dealt with elsewhere.

NHS figures show that last winter there were almost 100,000 visits for sore throats and 384 for hiccups.
