The new home secretary has warned that the UK could suspend visas for countries that do not agree to support Britain’s return deals.
Shabana Mahmood said her "top priority" was to "secure our borders", and called on countries to take back their citizens if they had no right to be in the UK.
She said the UK could stop issuing visas for visitors from those countries if they fail to abide by her government’s plans – and that action could be coordinated with fellow Five Eyes countries US, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.
