Players swelter in sizzling Switzerland ahead of Women's Euro 2025

There are calls for more help to keep players safe during Euro 2025 as Switzerland sizzles under a scorching heatwave.

Temperatures are predicted to hit 35C for the tournament launch today – and are not expected to dip much during the evening.

Officials are looking at whether players should be given breaks every 15 minutes to cool down. Half-time could also be extended.

England are the holders and kick off their tournament against France on Saturday.
