West Midlands Police’s chief constable Craig Guildford has apologised to MPs for an error in evidence given over the decision to ban Israeli football fans from watching a match against Aston Villa.

Force leaders have been under fire over the decision to ban supporters of Maccabi Tel Aviv from attending a Europa League match last November.
Chief constable Craig Guildford wrote to the Home Affairs Committee to apologise for the mistake, after he appeared twice to give evidence over the controversy.
