An independent review into how Northamptonshire Police handled Harry Dunn’s death has found the former Chief Constable had a ‘detrimental’ impact on the investigation.
Harry, 19, was killed in a head-on collision with US spy Anne Sacoolas after she drove on the wrong side of the road near RAF Croughton, an American intelligence base.
The report criticised how the force handled their relationship with the family and pointed out multiple failings, including failing to tell them Ms Sacoolas had returned to the States and telling them the chances of a successful prosecution were low.
