Police give further details on Manchester synagogue attack suspect - Watch ITV News at Ten LIVE

Watch ITV News at Ten live as police revealed that they believed the suspect of the Manchester synagogue attack, Jihad Al-Shamie, may have been influenced by "extreme Islamist ideology".

Detectives have also made a further three arrests, with six people now in custody.

Tributes have been paid to the two victims who were killed in the attack today were named as Adrian Daulby, 53, and Melvin Cravitz, 66.

A vigil was held on Friday afternoon for the victims of the attack.

The Rabbi, who led Thursday’s Synagogue service in Manchester, has spoken to ITV News of the shocking moment the attacker attempted to force his way inside the building.

In his first interview since the attack, Rabbi Daniel Walker described the "very, very brave men" who helped him hold the doors as Jihad Al-Shamie repeatedly tried to get inside while brandishing a knife and shouting threats.

A day after the attack, members of the Jewish community are being urged to take safety precautions.
The Community Security Trust (CST), a charity whose mission is to protect Jews from terrorism and antisemitism, has issued new guidance following the attack.
CST said it was working with police to “to ensure security at synagogues, and in the wider Jewish community, is as strong as it can be over the coming days and weeks”.

In other news, Hamas say they have reached a "responsible position" in relation to Donald Trump’s plan for peace in Gaza. The group say they are prepared to hand over all hostages, and hand over the administration of Gaza to an independent body, in return for a complete withdrawal by Israel. They say they will be able to negotiate over other details.
