The first factory to produce illegal weight loss drugs in the UK has been raided by the police. The discovery, in Northampton, led to the largest single seizure of trafficked weight loss medicine ever recorded worldwide – according to the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency.
The haul was estimated to be worth more than £250,000 and the products are described as ‘untested, unauthorised and potentially deadly’.
