Almost 20 years since Madeleine McCann went missing, specialist police teams from Germany are leading a new search of more than 20 plots of land in Portugal.
Officers are using ground-penetrating radar equipment to scour an area east of Praia da Luz, the town where the three-year-old went missing in 2007, searching for her body or an indication she may have once been there.
The search area also includes a farmhouse where German suspect Christian B lived at the time of Madeleine’s disappearance.
