Poll shows public support for removing Andrew from royal line of succession following arrest

There is overwhelming public support for removing Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor from the royal line of succession following his arrest, a new poll has shown.

According to the YouGov survey, 82% of people said Andrew – who is currently eighth in line to the throne – should be removed, while 6% disagreed and 12% said they did not know.

It is understood that the government is to consider introducing new legislation which would block the former duke from ever becoming king – but this would only happen once the police investigation has concluded.
