Pope Francis gifts Popemobile to children in Gaza as healthcare unit

The Popemobile will be turned into a health clinic for children in Gaza.

One of Pope Francis’s final wishes was for the car to be gifted to Gazans as a mobile treatment centre.

Now, it is to be re-fitted with equipment for diagnosis, examination and other medical treatments.

The clinic will be staffed by doctors and medics, but it’s unclear when the Popemobile can enter Gaza.

The region is currently under an Israeli siege which has lasted for more than 60 days.
