Pope Leo celebrates Jubilee year with hundreds of thousands of young Catholics | DW News

Pope Leo is celebrating the Jubilee year of the Catholic Church by leading Sunday mass in front of hundreds of thousands of young worshippers on the outskirts of Rome. As many as half a million people were expected to join the event – the largest yet of his three-month papacy. The youth, coming from some 146 countries, are in Rome for a week of events as part of the ongoing Catholic holy year. The Vatican is celebrating a Jubilee in 2025 as it does every 25 years, drawing even more pilgrims and tourists to Rome than usual. DW’s Seema Gupta reports from Rome.
