Pope Leo XIV thanked thousands of well-wishers during Sunday prayers, a day after he was discharged from hospital following lung cancer surgery.
The 71-year-old had the lower lobe of his right lung removed on October 13. The surgery confirmed he had adenocarcinoma, the most common type of lung cancer.
He said he would gradually resume his activities, "always with God’s help and your prayers".
