"The closest Poland has been to war since 1939" – those were the words of the Polish Prime Minister today, after several Russian drones were launched into its airspace last night, leaving the country – and Nato – on edge.
Poland say four were shot down, of the nineteen drones that entered its territory, in what is the first major breach of Europe’s airspace since the start of the Ukraine war.
Here, the Defence Secretary said the UK was looking at boosting its air defences over Poland – more on that shortly.
And, while Russia says the launches were not intentional – this could represent the most dangerous test for Nato in decades.
Prince Harry has arrived at Clarence House following reports that a reunion between him and his father, King Charles, could be on the cards.
Speculation had been growing over whether the estranged pair would meet after an apparent breakdown in their relationship and several public statements made in interviews by the prince.
Rumours had been fuelled in part by a recent meeting between both the King and Harry’s staff, leading to many media outlets speculating a ‘peace summit’ may be on the cards.
A meeting would mark the first time father and son had met in a year and a half.
