Lord Mandelson is now under a criminal investigation by police into allegations that he shared sensitive information with Jeffrey Epstein while he was business minister.
Starmer has ordered the release of records connected with Mandelson’s appointment as ambassador.
Lord Mandelson has not yet commented on the investigation but has previously expressed regret at his relationship with Epstein.
