The prime minister framed the difficulties facing the country as a binary choice, one between "decency" or "division," going on to say the UK could choose "Renewal or decline. A country proud of its values, in control of its future, or one that succumbs, against the grain of our history to the politics of grievance."
US President Donald Trump has given Hamas "three to four days" to accept a proposed peace plan that would see the terror group removed from Gaza’s government and replaced by a technocratic board of experts.
Speaking to reporters outside the White House, the president said, "All of the Arab countries are signed up."
"The Muslim countries all signed up, Israel’s all signed up. We’re just waiting for Hamas. And Hamas is either going to be doing it or not. And if it’s not, it’s going to a very sad end," the president added.
Oscar-winning actor Sir Gary Oldman has revealed Prince William admitted to being a "fan" while bestowing him with a knighthood at Windsor Castle on Tuesday.
The London-born film star, 67, was recognised for his services to drama in the King’s Birthday Honours.
Sir Gary said he was, "very humbled and flattered" at receiving the award.
