Prince Harry is one of several other high-profile figures taking civil action against the publishers of the Daily Mail over claims they were the victims of unlawful information gathering.
Liz Hurley, Sadie Frost, David Furnish, Baroness Lawrence – mother of Stephen Lawrence – and former Lib Dem politician Sir Simon Hughes all claim they were the victims of "abhorrent criminal activity" between 1993 and 2011.
Associated Newspapers denies any wrongdoing
The case is scheduled to last nine weeks, with Harry expected to give evidence on Thursday.
