Pro-Palestinian protesters clashed with riot police in the northern Italian city of Udine during a World Cup qualifier against Israel in which Italy won 3-0.

Organisers, Committee for Palestine-Udine, called on soccer’s global governing body FIFA to ban Israel from all competitions, saying the team supported "occupation policies" in the Palestinian territories.
Demonstrators set up makeshift barricades in the streets and threw metal bars and stones, police deployed water cannons to disperse the crowds.
