Protester Erfan Soltani not sentenced to death after fears of execution, says Tehran

Erfan Soltani has been arrested during protests but not sentenced to death, according to state media.

The judiciary ‌says Soltani, currently held in the central penitentiary of Karaj, ‍is being charged with "colluding against the country’s internal security and ‌propaganda activities against the regime".

A human rights group previously warned that Soltani had been sentenced to death and Donald Trump had threatened Iran with action if it executed protesters.
