Protests have been taking place across Spain this week, including in Madrid and Barcelona, with people demanding action over the housing crisis. It comes after after 87-year-old wheelchair-user Maricarmen Abascal was evicted from her home in Madrid last week where she had lived for 70 years. Spanish members of parliament will debate and vote on October 2 on two proposed decrees to tackle the crisis.
