Protests planned in Inverness over plans to house asylum seekers

The Scottish Highlands currently has no asylum seekers but that is about to change, as Inverness is preparing to house 300 migrants in its 150-year-old army barracks.

Tensions are flaring amongst locals, as one protester said to Sky News’ Scotland correspondent Connor Gillies: "I’ll be at that gate with my kilt".

Since the announcement was made by the Home Office, it has also emerged Cameron Barracks requires a £1m revamp.
