Robert Jenrick, speaking as an economic spokesperson for Nigel Farage’s Reform UK, claimed that the party would prioritise protecting pensions if elected to government. He warned that Labour Party policies could gradually reduce the value of pensions, using the phrase ‘chip away at your pensions’ to attack their economic approach.
Jenrick repeatedly argued that Reform UK is the only party committed to safeguarding the state pension, including maintaining the ‘triple lock’ system. He framed Nigel Farage as a defender of pensioners, insisting that under Reform, older citizens would see their incomes protected rather than eroded over time.
He also outlined broader economic plans, saying Reform would cut billions in what he described as government “waste” to help balance the public finances.
