The Russian defence ministry launched an Oreshnik hypersonic missile at a target in western Ukraine during major overnight strikes.
John Healey, the UK defence secretary, had meetings with Volodymyr Zelenskyy after the attacks.
Speaking after the meeting he criticised President Putin saying "whilst he talks about peace, he’s escalating attacks on the Ukraine military and civilians".
