Putin’s message to Russia after three years of war

Donald Trump’s return to the White House loomed large – as Ukraine’s President met EU leaders in Brussels today.

They’re worried Mr Trump will impose peace talks, which freeze the conflict in Vladimir Putin’s favour. At his year-end press conference, Mr Putin said the war had made Russia "much stronger" and he should have decided to invade Ukraine sooner.
