Millions of people from around the world were able to enjoy a rare total lunar eclipse. The moon turned a deep red, becoming a ‘blood moon’ as it entered the earth’s shadow, and it lost its usual white colour that it gets by reflecting the sun’s rays.
At least two lunar eclipses happen each year but the next one visible in the UK won’t happen until August next year.
