Ratko Mladić, dubbed the ‘butcher of Bosnia’, who ordered and carried out the massacre of 8,000 men and boys at Srebrenica three decades ago, is dead.
The Bosnian Serb general was serving a life sentence at The Hague. He was 84.
Mladić was one of the most notorious figures of the 1990s wars in the former Yugoslavia.
His forces carried out both the siege of Sarajevo and the Srebrenica massacre.
While on the run, he gave what was possibly his last interview to Channel 4 News.
