Record Prevent anti-extremist referrals

There were a record number of referrals to the government’s anti-extremism scheme, Prevent, in the last year, at 8,778.

That’s up 27 percent on the previous year. 36 percent of those referred were aged 11-15.

There’s been a signifcant increase since the Southport attack last summer.
