Reports: Iran's nuclear program set back by only a few months | DW News

The war in the Middle East on hold – for now. After 12 days that saw Iranian retaliation for Israeli attacks – and the United States striking key Iranian nuclear sites – President Donald Trump has declared it over.

Israel and Iran have both claimed victory for their sides amid a fragile ceasefire. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he will order renewed military action if Iran violates the truce. For his part, Iran’s President Massoud Pezeshkian says Tehran is ready to return to talks. Iranian state media reported him insisting Iran doesn’t seek nuclear weapons but will defend its legitimate rights.
