Resident doctors in England go on strike

Tens of thousands of resident doctors in England have begun a five day strike over pay.

The Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer appealed to the medics not to take action, saying it would "cause a huge loss for the NHS and the country". A&E and urgent care will continue to be available, as the Health Secretary said disruption would be kept to a minimum.
