The number of roadworks in Britain have more than doubled in the past two years, and a 2019 pledge by former Prime Minister Boris Johnson is partly to blame.
The government’s plan to "crack down" on disruptive roadworks has been now been delayed until 2026, after initially being promised to come into effect this summer.
