At least 27 bodies have been recovered after a boat carrying Rohingya refugees fleeing Myanmar sank. The boat which was carrying around 70 migrants capsized off the coast of Malaysia and Thailand.

More than 5,000 Rohingyas have embarked on dangerous boat journeys to leave Myanmar and Bangladesh this year – nearly 600 have been reported dead or missing according to the United Nations Refugee Agency.
The mostly Muslim Rohingyas have been fleeing persecution from majority Buddhist Myanmar for decades, claims that Myanmar have denied. They’re also leaving overcrowded refugee camps in Bangladesh, where conditions are deteriorating.
