The government says thousands of women and children will be better protected from domestic violence under new measures targeting the most dangerous offenders.

Police currently record a domestic abuse related crime every 30 seconds.
A project tackling the root causes of the violence will now be rolled out across England and Wales backed by a £53 million investment over four years.
