At least 16 people have been killed in two airstrikes on Gaza City, after the Israeli military hit several areas forcing thousands of Palestinians to flee.

Israel insists it is pressing ahead with its plan to route out Hamas fighters from Gaza city and force residents to flee to a so-called ‘humanitarian zone’ further south of the Strip.
The attacks happened as US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem, to discuss ways to end the war and bring about the release of the remaining hostages.
