Rupert Murdoch steps down as chair of Fox and News Corp

Rupert Murdoch has announced he is stepping down as chair of Fox Corp and News Corp, leaving his son Lachlan with sole leadership of a media empire spanning the US, UK and Australia. In a note to staff, first reported in the Murdoch-controlled Wall Street Journal, Murdoch railed against ‘elites’.
