Russia and Belarus hold joint military exercise

Watch live from Borisov, east of Minsk, as Russia and Belarus hold a joint military exercise.

Thousands of troops are taking part in the exercise, as tensions with the EU run high after a Russian drone incursion into Polish airspace last week.

The Zapad joint military exercise, which began on Friday, involves drills in both Russia and Belarus as well as in the Baltic and Barents seas, the Russian defence ministry has said.

They also might train to launch new Oreshnik missiles, which have been described as having the characteristics of an intercontinental ballistic missile and was reportedly used by Russia in November 2024 when it hit the Ukrainian city of Dnipro.
