Former MI6 officer Christopher Steele has said reports of Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozhin being in a private jet crash are "not a surprise" but it would be "a mistake" to jump to the conclusion that this was an operation authorised by Putin.
Ten people have been killed in a private jet crash north of Moscow, with the Russian Civil Aviation Authority saying Yevgeny Prigozhin was on the passenger list.
