Former First Minister Alex Salmond has said it is "perfectly defensible" for Humza Yousaf not to suspend Nicola Sturgeon from the SNP and Mr Yousaf needs to "set himself apart" from the previous leadership, noting that the party is under a "financial cloud that’s not going away anytime soon".
The former First Minister insisted that support for Scottish independence remains high, and said it needs to be separated from the issues currently facing the SNP.
