New Department for Education guidance also says that life-saving allergy pens need to be stocked by all schools.
The new measures are designed to help children stay in school, with 500,000 days of learning lost due to allergy-related illness or medical appointments in the last year alone.
The measures follow a Benedict’s Law campaign named after Benedict Blythe who died from an anaphylactic reaction at his Lincolnshire school in 2021.
